Dock suffered their third defeat of the season in a very bad tempered game against highflying Bidston FC. It was never going to be easy for dock who had Mike Saunders, Kieran Fleetwood, Ian Brunt, Mike McGraa, Steve Platt and Jason Williams all absent because of injury or suspensions. They also lost Darren Blythe in the seventh minute with a badly twisted ankle, Darren was replaced by Shaun Byrne, who at 46 is now the oldest player to play for Dock (even older than Jason Packenham, sorry Jason). Dock also lost Gary Reay just before the half time break, Gary was sent off along with a Bidston player after a push and shove episode, which the Referee deemed as red card offences.

Bidston took the lead after 47 minutes, they then doubled the score 15 minutes later. Dock’s Mike Stevens nearly pulled one back on 70 minutes, but Bidston’s keeper produced a brilliant save to deny him. Dock did score a consolation goal on the 80th minute mark with a superb volley from Darren McGuinness. The final ten minutes saw Dock unsuccessfully pushing for an equaliser, and Bidston having 2 more players sent off.
Final Score: Dock 1-2 Bidston.
