It was a case of “déjà vu” for Dock as they knocked Shaftesbury “A” out of a cup competition on penalties for the second time this season. Shaftesbury took the lead on the 15 minute mark, but Dock equalised with a Chris Crawford effort three minutes before the halftime break. Shaftes regained the lead thirteen minutes into the second half with a superbly taken free kick which gave Paul Roberts no chance in Dock’s goal. With time running out for Dock they decided to change things around and introduced three attacking substitutes in Mike Saunders, Gary Reay and Gareth McAvoy. The decision paid off in the 90th minute when Gary Reay pounced on a loose ball in the six yard box and lashed it past Shaftesbury’s keeper to bring the game level. With no goals scored during extra time the game went to a penalty shootout, which Dock won 5-4.Shaftes v Dock FC
