Although Saddle took a 2-0 lead into the half time break through goals from Askew (15) and Hodson (45), they never really took full advantage of the strong wing and sloping pitch to put the game beyond Dock. After a half time telling off Dock came out for the second half looking like a different team, and, after only 2 minutes Jonpaul Stanhope produced a impressive dribble past the Saddle defence, he then found Gary Reay who in turn found the back of the net to give Dock a glimmer of hope. Dock continued to bombard Saddle’s goal but found their keeper in inspirational form. It wasn’t until the 80th minute that Dock brought the game level when Matty Carlin superbly connected to a Jonpaul Stanhope corner to head past the keeper. Dock continued to push for the winner, and they were rewarded on the 84th minute mark when prolific hot shot Gary Reay got his second which made the final score Saddle 2-3 Dock.
