Master PackenhamDock went through to the next round of the Veronica Conway Cup, but only just after finding themselves 3-0 down after only half an hour. Dock’s first half display was nothing short of diabolical and New Ferry Wirral Hotel must have thought they were home and dry. Gary Reay gave his team a lifeline when he netted just before the break to bring it back to 3-1. Manager McGraa made a couple of changes at half time bringing on Paul Byrne and Mark Head for Craig Donaghy and Tony Sample.

The second half was a far better performance with a Gary Reay brace and Shaun Homes effort giving the visitors a 4-3 win. Dock will certainly need to show a vast improvement next week if they have any aspirations of progressing in the Cheshire Cup.DockNewFerry
