The Dock’s Cheshire Cup voodoo continued today as they were knocked out by Stockport side Bredbury FC on Woodley Sports FC’s artificial pitch. Dock’s Gary Reay was unlucky not to open the scoring on the 10 minute mark with a well taken shot which went just wide of the keepers left hand post. The home side deservedly took the lead midway through the half when they pounced on a poor clearance from Docks keeper and slotted the ball past him and into the corner of the net. Dock came out all fired up in the second half, and were by far the better team for long periods. Their persistence paid off when Darren McGuinness brought the game level when he rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the empty net. Extra time saw chances for both sides, but it was the home side who regained the lead 30 seconds from time, when Dock were guilty of not clearing their lines. Final Score Bredbury FC 2-1 Dock AFC.

The result was soon forgotten by Binxy, Scooby, Darren Blythe, Matty Carlin, Colin O’Hanlon and a few others as they watched the mighty red’s superb win at Chelsea (pay back time for giving us reds abuse throughout the game, he he).
