Dock started the better team with Paul McDonnell hitting the crossbar after only three minutes from a 20 yard free kick. Dock continued to command the first half and could have easily gone in at half time 3-0 up, but they failed to convert their chances.

The second half was a much scrappier affair, not helped by the cold and windy conditions and the bumpy pitch. With neither team looking like scoring and the game heading towards extra time, Silsden’s Steve Throup completely lost his head and committed a horrendous tackle which earned him a straight red card. Having ten men seemed to suit Silsden, who then took the game to Dock, and, after 72 minutes scored the first goal of the game via a Adam Whiteoak header. With ten minutes to go Silsden’s Dale Hoyle was dismissed for two yellow card offences leaving his team with only 9 players on the pitch. With Dock looking for the equaliser and pushing forward, Silsden’s Adam Whiteoak took advantage and hit his second goal on the counter attack, making the final score: Silsden 2-0 Dock.
