Dock opened the scoring after 25 minutes through a Colin O’Hanlon effort, only to see Shaftes equalise 5 minutes later. Shaftes then took the lead on the hour mark and very nearly went 3-1 up soon after, but they were denied by a fine Paul Roberts save in the Dock Goal. With the game 3 minutes into injury time Dock were awarded a penalty which Gary Reay converted to take the game in to extra time. With the scores level after extra time the game went on to a penalty shoot out, which Dock won 4-1.
